Historic Landmarks

Retaining many of its original structures, Melbourne boasts a quaint aura of historic charisma. Originally coined as two neighboring cities (Melbourne and Eau Gallie) and then uniting as one in 1969, Melbourne is redolent with memories from the late 19th century on. Today, after much renovation and development, two downtown areas still reflect the days of Melbourne's past. Historic Downtown Melbourne and Olde Eau Gallie each offer their unique specialty shops and restaurants. Furthermore, Babcock Street has flourished throughout recent years, transforming into a bustling commercial mecca.

Several museums and attractions honor American history. Liberty Bell Memorial Museum, run by Honor America, presents locals and visitors with a lens into American history, exhibiting a timeline of the country's milestones, historic documents, a full-scale replica of the Liberty Bell, and Freedom Hall which was installed as a tribute to the men and women of Americas armed services.
