Nocatee is one of several master-planned communities located in the well-known and revered suburb of Ponte Vedra, in Jacksonville, Florida. A community within a community. Yet, let’s make it clear from the beginning: Nocatee is not your typical master-planned community. Much like the caliber and renown of the place it’s located within, Nocatee is exceptional in all aspects. A vision by master developers, The Parc Group, the Nocatee master-planned community was built with the commitment to incorporate “world-class amenities, activities, and an exceptional way of life.” A famous line from the movie “Field of Dreams” comes to mind after seeing a glimpse into Nocatee’s lifestyle and culture. The character Ray Kinsella, played by Kevin Costner, hears a whisper, “If you build it, he will come.” It turns out that after creating a baseball field in his Iowa cornfield, he is visited by the ghost of several famous baseball players who begin playing ball.
A similar situation (sans ghosts) could be said for Nocatee. Since the place was built, more than 22,000 people have decided to make the neighborhoods located west of the Intracoastal Waterway and Ponte Vedra Beach their home. Nocatee residents represent people from all of the 50 contiguous states and across the world, not only making it a diverse community, but also a significant nod to the efficacy of these kinds of master-planned environments.
Nocatee is a “bubble that you never have to leave.” This meticulously planned stretch of 25 square miles has just about everything, unless you want to take a 5-minute trek by car to a beach nearby or play a game of golf in Ponte Vedra. With an astonishing 5,000 acres of water parks spread throughout the many distinctive Nocatee neighborhoods, as well as recreational parks, the reserves at Nocatee, hiking trails, fishing ponds, kayak launches, sports courts lit up for night play, exclusive restaurants like South Kitchen Nocatee, gyms, medical facilities, hair salons, veterinarians, it is easy to see how one would not need to go anywhere else for days.
Nocatee is sometimes nicknamed the “Electric Cart Community” because you can take a cart anywhere you need to go, whether it’s for a swim, taking your kids to school, or heading to the local market. There are designated roads for carts, away from the “main” roads.
A special note about the recreational water parks, one of Nocatee’s many exceptional distinctions: these are some of the most well-thought-out and amazing parks. The community’s developers continue to add more based on feedback from residents.
In addition to the large water park featuring five separate pools, two big water slides, a lazy river, and a zip line that stretches 370 feet across the park, the developers have added another four-story interactive water playground with a pool alongside it. In addition to the extensive lap pool for the Nocatee Swim Club, they have built a massive 7,000 square foot swimming pool. Lastly, there is a designated pool for adults only, with an adjacent restaurant and bar close by. The many other parks you find within the community also include pools with varying depths, playgrounds, sports courts, picnic areas, and more.
It is All About Community
“Community is the foundation of what Nocatee is built upon.” Just as the variety of recreational amenities and conveniences goes above and beyond in Nocatee, the same could be said for their seemingly endless array of planned activities. Too many to mention here, the ones that float to the top of the list are the major events that happen at Nocatee Station Field, a well-planned compound consisting of indoor and outdoor settings to accommodate the needs of 5,000 people for things like farmers markets, Food Truck Fridays, holiday events like the 4th of July, and concerts.
The annual Roscalusa Songwriters’ Festival is held at Nocatee Station Field, a revered event not only for Nocatee’s residents, but for Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville and beyond.
