Welcome to Tequesta

The charming town of Tequesta is the northernmost city of Palm Beach County, located just North of the Jupiter Inlet and adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway. Tequesta is situated largely on the mainland, around the peaceful waterways of the Loxahatchee River, with a small section sitting on the prestigious Jupiter Island. Incorporated in 1957 (and named after the Tequesta Indians who lived in the southeastern region of Florida) as a planned community revolving around the historic Tequesta Country Club, this quaint neighborhood has since blossomed into one of the most blissful destinations in all of The Palm Beaches.

Its iconic landmark, the Tequesta Country Club, is highly regarded as a sought-after members-only club. A private clubhouse and golf course surrounded, on three sides, by the north and northwest fork of the Loxahatchee River, members can enjoy teeing off on an unparalleled scenic backdrop that’s decorated with mint-colored foliage, exotic flora, and palm-shaded trees that gently create a canopy throughout the course. Founded in 1957 by Charles Martyn, a land developer who also developed a large portion of the Tequesta neighborhood, has remained a place rich in traditions, exuding Old Florida vibes amidst legendary links designed by world-renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio, II.

Championship Grounds

Second to designing the Tequesta Country Club, Fazio also designed the esteemed Jupiter Hills Club in collaboration with his uncle George Fazio. Spanning two courses, this star duo drew the original blueprints for the now expansive championship ground, whose reputation precedes itself as one of the top members-only clubs in the country. The club’s double courses are known as two of Fazio’s all-time favorite links, throughout the years, making minor adjustments and teeing off on the par three 11th with fellow members.

Flip-flop Style Lifestyle

Outside of picturesque golf courses, this area is home to the Tequesta Brewing Company, which serves up, daily, a variety of craft brews on tap. Also, wildly popular amongst locals is 3 Natives, a health-conscious hotspot featuring organic menu items like homemade acai bowls, smoothies, juices, shots, soups, salads, wraps, bagels, and toasts. Additional laid-back casual restaurants in the neighborhood include Olde Lighthouse Diner, Legendary Sports Grill, Baldinos Restaurant, Ocean Bleu, The American Gourmet, and Hogsnappers, which is famously known for its island-style seafood dishes and decadent sushi creations. Decorated in intimate island décor, Hogsnappers speaks to Tequesta’s flip-flop style lifestyle with Caribbean art, reggae music, house-made ceviche, and cold draft beer.

Tequesta presents a small town, family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of award-winning public and private schools nearby. Coral Cove Park, a scenic beach with breathtaking ocean views of the Atlantic waters, is the idyllic place to visit with family and friends, with covered picnic tables, built-in grills, and a playground accessible to children of all ages. A coveted destination for swimming and snorkeling, Coral Cove Park is renowned for its natural limestone, which is a part of the Atlantic Coastal Ridge. Beachgoers can often see an abundance of marine wildlife and seashells resting on the reefs. Tequesta is conveniently positioned 30 minutes from the Palm Beach International Airport, 1 hour and 50 minutes from Miami, and 2 hours and 30 minutes from Orlando.
